Trees Without Roots
A SUMMARY
Trees Without Roots is a personal account of two children coming from a mixed religious background trying to escape the war and persecution. Being political targets and exposed to radical ideology, they were forced to flee their hometown, Teslić, and move from one country to another in hopes of finding a safe haven which brought them to the States. It is a touching story that gives a new political lens as it is through the eyes of children who can’t pick to fight for either side of their family.
For years, they have been known as ‘trees without roots’ and have had no clear sense of family or identity. The war split up the people we trusted and left us with hopelessness.
